Abstract
The anisotropic conductance of quasi-one-dimensional electron system o n the surface of liquid helium supported by a new type of substrate wa s measured. The substrate used is a glass plate on which stripes of fl at surface and linear grooves align in parallel alternatively. It is s hown that the ratio of the conductances of electrons moving along and across the channels is larger than 470 which is about 2 orders greater than that obtained so far.
