We have studied the dynamics of bubbles which are nucleated with a sou
nd pulse. We measure the radius of the bubble as a function of time un
til it collapses and gives birth to a second bubble. For static pressu
res in the range 10-70 mbars, the results are in very good agreement w
ith the classical Rayleigh equation. The energy of the second bubble i
s 5 to 10% of the first one.
