Adsorption of spin-polarized hydrogen gas H down arrow at the surface
of liquid He-4 was greatly enhanced by magnetically focusing H down ar
row atoms onto the 0.03 cm dia. tip of a Dy ''needle''. Two-dimensiona
l phase space densities up to sigma(h(2)/2 pi mkT(s)) > 2 were detecte
d at T-s approximate to 225 mK using recombination energy rield NMR.
