The kinetic laws of electric conductivity in polymers under conditions
of continuous radiation-induced charge generation in the bulk are con
sidered It is shown that the experimental results can be interpreted o
n the basis of a relay-diffusion model of charge transport, according
to which the charge is transferred between the local centers by means
of molecular motions. A significant increase of the electric conductiv
ity in polymers in the vicinity of the glass transition temperature is
explained by participation of cooperative molecular motions in the ch
arge transfer, which are accompanied by local structural rearrangement
s and form the low-frequency region of the molecular relaxation spectr
um.
