Abstract
The results of CCD search for variables stars in the young open cluste r IC 4996 based on 18 nights are presented. Three variable stars have been discovered. Variable v1 is probably an RR Lyr type variable with the period of 0.(d) 236 and semi-amplitude of 0.12 mag in filter I. v2 is an eclipsing systems. The most probable period of this star is 1.( d)499458, but period two times shorter cannot be excluded. The period and type of variability of third star cannot be established from the p resent data.
