Abstract
Some of the fundamental issues in the study of nanostructured material s are described. The synthesis of atomic clusters and the process of t heir consolidation ore presented with respect to applications of nanom aterials in varistors and gas absorbers. The possibility of improving the mechanical response of nanophase materials through grain size cont rol is discussed.
