F-19 NMR is used for monitoring the behavior of a fluorinated enol est
er designed as proinsecticide of omega-fluorooctanoic add, in locust h
emolymph or organ samples. The analysis performed directly in the biol
ogical media avoids the problematic extraction of polar metabolites an
d contributes to easier and faster monitoring. Thus a rapid demasking
of omega-fluorooctanoic acid was evidenced during in vitro assays in h
emolymph or fat body. For ex vivo assays the method clarifies a faster
activation followed or accompanied by further metabolizations of the
omega-fluorinated octanoic acid.
