Abstract
A number of benzodiazepine derivatives find wide clinical application. Our own research has focussed on the synthesis and spectrometric anal ysis of benzodiazepinones and various heteroatomic analogues, viz, ben zoxazepinones, benzodioxepinones and benzoxathiepinones. We report her e the influence of structural features on the receptor binding affinit ies of benzodioxepine and benzoxathiepine derivatives at rat brain ben zodiazepine receptors. Some of the compounds exhibit significant bindi ng whilst others appear to potentiate diazepam binding.
