Abstract
A case of infective endocarditis diagnosed using Doppler echocardiogra phy in a 29-year-old woman with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is reporte d, The patient died suddenly two months after admission, Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a risk factor for infective endocarditis, Patients w ith this condition should receive appropriate prophylactic therapy, Do ppler echocardiography allows accurate evaluation of this dreaded comp lication of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
