Abstract
The fretting wear resistance was examined for the high molecular mater ials, including PTFE, PI and several other modified polymers with fill er reinforcement, in pairing with GCr15 steel balls. By means of SEM, EPMA and AES the investigation was focused on the mechanism that the w ear resistance was improved by transferred mm from high polymers durin g fretting. The discussion is also related to the tribological behavio ur of solid fillers such as PTFE, graphite and copper powder.
