The present paper documents the calculation of radiation spectra and o
f radial dose distribution around a point source for 24 selected radio
nculides. The radionculides were ordered into three groups: Nuclides p
otentially useful for therapy by emission of Auger electrons: Cr-51, C
u-64, Ga-67, Se-73, Se-75, Br-77, Br-80, Tc-94, Tc-99m, In-114m, In-11
5m, I-123, I-124, I-125, Tm-167, Pt-193m, and Pt-195m, nuclides potent
ially useful for therapy by alpha-particles with additional emission o
f Auger electrons: Bi-212, At-211 and Fm-255, and nuclides potentially
useful for electron Auger-therapy with simultaneous PET diagnosis: Se
-73, Tc-94 and I-124. The calculations imply strongly the development
of labelled DNA-seeking compounds useful as carrier for the Auger- and
Coster-Kronig electron-emitting radionuclides.
