Abstract
A partial modification of the standard end-to-side anastomosis usually performed in heterotopic vascularized organ transplantation in the ra t is described, Use of the method completely abolished the approximate ly 20% severe post-declamping bleeding due to gaps in those blind area s, the stitching of which are at risk using previously described metho ds. The authors thus recommend the method for performing heart, kidney , pancreas and small bower transplantations in the rat. (C) 1996 Wiley -Liss, Inc.
