Abstract
The author refers to the concept of rehabilitation as a new vision of a mentally ill person, developed at the Bekhterev Institution in St. P etersburg. He emphasizes the similarities between his concept and Gunt er Ammon's concept of dynamic psychiatry, stressing milieu therapy, gr oup dynamics, family work, the use of the creative potential of the pa tient supporting the patient's health, and his personal and social sta tus.
