Abstract
Renal ectopia is very rare and its associated pyelonephritis can simul ate an appendix mass/abscess or colonic tumour which may result in nee dless surgical exploration, as illustrated by our experience with 3 ca ses reported in this article. Careful ultrasonography and urinalysis c an obviate this confusion and save unnecessary operation.
