Abstract
This paper describes the design and characteristics of a two-channel d etector apparatus based on thin-film high-temperature superconducting bolometers that operate with liquid-nitrogen cooling. The IR composite bolometer, on a mica substrate, has a detectivity of D = 1.2 x 10(9) cm . Hz(1/2)W(-1) at a modulation frequency of 10 Hz. The electrical NEP of the submillimeter antenna microbolometer is NEP = 1.2 x 10(-11) W . Hz(-1/2) with a time constant of 3 x 10(-7) sec. (C) 1996 The Opt ical Society of America.
