Ks. Baraboshkin et al., THE USE OF ULTRADISPERSE DIAMOND POWDERS OF A DETONATION NATURE FOR POLISHING X-RAY-OPTICS ELEMENTS, Journal of optical technology, 63(9), 1996, pp. 689-691
This paper proposes the use of polishing suspensions based on ultradis
perse diamond powders of a detonation nature for superfine finishing o
f elements for x-ray optics. A technique for determining the roughness
with subnanometer resolution is described in detail. The following ro
ughness values are obtained during polishing: 3 Angstrom for fused qua
rtz, 5 Angstrom for K8 glass, and 10 Angstrom for nickel electrochemic
ally deposited on copper. (C) 1996 The Optical Society of America.
