Gamma-ray studies of binary products from Kr-84 + Cd-116 collisions ha
ve been carried out. New yrast states in Cd-114 and Cd-116 as well as
an intruder band on top of the second excited O+ state in Cd-116 have
been identified. These new data essentially add to the unique systemat
ics of low-lying collective states in even-even Cd isotopes confirming
the distinct behaviour of the intruder states.
