Abstract
Mature tRNAs are remarkably similar in all cells. However, the primary transcripts from tRNA genes can vary considerably due to differences in gene organization. RNase P must be able to recognize the elements t hat are common to all tRNA precursors to accurately remove the 5'-lead er sequences.
