We report the discovery of a new Class 0 protostellar source associate
d with the IRAS source 23011+6126 in the Cep E molecular cloud. Observ
ations in the (CO)-C-12(2-1) and the SiO(3-2) lines show evidence for
a very young outflow (approximate to 3 x 10(3) yr) emanating from the
IRAS source. Extreme high-velocity wings are observed in the (CO)-C-12
(2-1) line : they reach out to -125 km s(-1) and +80 km s(-1) relative
to the ambient gas in the blue and red-shifted lobes respectively. Mi
llimetre continuum observations at 1.25 mm reveal a strongly peaked so
urce surrounded by a massive envelope of 18 M(.) with a luminosity of
approximate to 100 L(.). Comparison of the millimetre emission with H-
2 data suggests that the outflow is in the course of sweeping up the p
arental envelope.
