Abstract
The article describes the new European procedures, centralized and dec entralized, for bringing veterinary medicinal products to the market. It explains how the relevant Belgian authorities, responsible for auth orisation matters, have integrated these new procedures into their str uctures. It comments the objectives of the new European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products (EMEA) and the role of the European Commission as a decision making body, giving legal force to the Agency 's scientific opinions.
