Abstract
A test system is discussed for measurements of rotational magnetostric tion (RMST) of highly grain oriented SiFe. It is characterized by (i) a novel three-phase excited apparatus enhancing the magnetization of ' hard' directions and (ii) averaging over large grain sizes with respec t to both the (quasi)homogeneous magnetization and the RMST detection. A strain tensor is calculated by means of the signals from three extr a-long strain gauges. Results are presented for Hi-B material.
