Abstract
The fixed point technique is combined with an optimal ordered factoriz ation of the stiffness matrix for the finite element solution of nonli near magnetic field problems. The efficiency of the method is compared with the Newton-Raphson technique. In spite of the greater number of iterations, the fixed point technique significantly reduces the comput ational time.
