Abstract
A high-permeability, grain-oriented silicon steel sheet of ultrathick gauge 0.50 mm with better punchability, realized by the formation of a n extremely thin glass film formed in the surface region, has been dev eloped. The new product has almost the same core loss as conventional grain-oriented steel sheet of 0.35 mm gauge, when used in the iron cor es of large rotary machines.
