Abstract
Typical bistable behavior (occurrence of a single Barkhausen irreversi bility for a certain value of the reverse magnetic field) is observed for bent Fe-rich amorphous wires with toroidal symmetry. This property enables the design of new critical current sensors, where the Matteuc ci voltage is used to detect a critical current flowing through a cond uctor coaxial with the toroid sample axis.
