Abstract
A 3-phase, 5-limb transformer core was built using four wound and cut amorphous cores to demonstrate a substantial energy saving. Fundamenta l and third harmonic components of flux were measured in selected regi ons of the core. Total core loss of the transformer was measured fora range of core flux densities.
