Abstract
We have evaluated the complete stress distribution in amorphous Fe77.5 Si7.5B15 glass-covered wires, and its interpretation together with the results of the performed magnetic measurements allows us to explain t heir magnetic behavior. The high values of the stresses and their dist ribution lead to the unique magnetic properties of these wires.
