D. Thyagarajan et D. Narahari, RELATIVE EFFICACY OF 4 ANTI-COCCIDIAL DRUGS AGAINST CECAL COCCIDIOSISINFECTION IN BROILER CHICKS, Indian Journal of Animal Sciences, 66(9), 1996, pp. 868-871
Relative efficacy of amprolium hydrochloride, nitrofurazone with furaz
olidone, p-tolune sulphonyl-beta-methoxy-urethane and sulphadimidine a
gainst experimental caecal coccidiosis was studied in broiler chicks.
The post-infection mortality due to coccidiosis was higher in nitrofur
azone with furazolidone and p-tolune sulphonyl-beta-methoxy-urethane m
edicated groups than in other infected groups. The anticoccidial index
and performance index were superior with amprolium hydrochloride medi
cation, followed by sulphadimidine treatment. Immunity induced in all
the therapeutic groups was comparable with infected unmedicated group.
