Abstract
The decay of fluorescence of green bacteria cells immobilized in polym er film was measured and analyzed using two models, taking into accoun t (1) that every emitter is in the presence of energy accepters, and ( 2) that the fluorescence decay is the superposition of monoexponential decays of various emitters. The first model fitted better to the emis sion of aggregated bacteriochlorophyll (BChl) c and BChl a, whereas th e second one was more appropriate for the emission of pigment molecule s isolated from the energy transfer chain.
