Wc. Davis et al., ANALYSIS OF MONOCLONAL-ANTIBODIES REACTIVE WITH MOLECULES UP-REGULATED OR EXPRESSED ONLY ON ACTIVATED LYMPHOCYTES, Veterinary immunology and immunopathology, 52(4), 1996, pp. 301-311
Monoclonal antibodies potentially specific for antigens expressed or u
pregulated on activated leukocytes were selected for further analysis
from the panel submitted to the third international workshop on rumina
nt leukocyte antigens, The kinetics of expression of these activation
antigens on resting peripheral mononuclear cells (PBMC) and PBMC stimu
lated with concanavalin A or staphylococcal superantigen SEC1 for 4, 2
4 or 96 h were compared, as well as their appearance on various subset
s of cells, For some of them, a molecular mass could be determined aft
er immunoprecipitation from radio-labeled, lectin-stimulated cells, Ba
sed on the results from the clustering, kinetic studies and biochemica
l data, evidence was gathered for assigning two additional mAbs to clu
ster BoCD25 (IL-2 receptor) and two mAbs to cluster BoCD71 (transferri
n receptor). Four mAbs recognized an early activation antigen predomin
antly expressed on gamma delta T cells in short-term cultures, A numbe
r of other activation antigens were further characterized.
