Rv. Roman et Rz. Tudose, STUDIES ON TRANSFER PROCESSES IN MIXING VESSELS - POWER-CONSUMPTION OF THE MODIFIED RUSHTON TURBINE AGITATORS IN GAS-LIQUID SYSTEM, Hungarian journal of industrial chemistry, 24(3), 1996, pp. 161-169
In this work, data regarding the power consumption in a gas-liquid sys
tem, using standard and modified Rushton turbine agitators, positioned
singly or doubly on same shaft, were presented. The modified blades w
ere obtained through the increase of the blade height of the Rushton t
urbine, simultaneously with the surface discontinuation through the ap
plication of perforations. The full surface of the modified blade is e
qual to the witness blade surface of the Rushton turbine. The surface
fraction of the perforations S-G/S-C is between 0-0.588. The empirical
equations for the estimation of gassed power consumption, were expres
sed depending on the stirrer speed, gas flow rate, geometry and number
of the blades.
