Z. Ormos et R. Hajdu, HYDRODYNAMIC STUDY OF ROTO-FLUIDIZED BED GRANULATORS .2. MINIMUM FLUIDIZATION GAS VELOCITY AND MINIMUM DISC REVOLUTION SPEED, Hungarian journal of industrial chemistry, 24(3), 1996, pp. 179-183
Authors report results of experiments to determine the pressure drop o
f air flowing through a roto-fluidised bed as a function of the gas ve
locity. Measurements revealed that the minimum roto-fluidisation gas v
elocity can be determined experimentally, as with conventional fluidis
ed beds, by relatively simple means, from measurement of the pressure
drop. Furthermore, the relative volume expansion of the roto-fluidised
bed and the void fraction have been studied as functions of disc revo
lution, and relationships derived for calculation of the minimum rotat
ion speed.
