P. Magne et al., THE DIAGNOSTIC TEMPLATE - A KEY ELEMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE AESTHETIC TREATMENT CONCEPT, The International journal of periodontics & restorative dentistry, 16(6), 1996, pp. 561-569
Provisional restorations represent a key element in the realization of
extensive esthetic rehabilitations. In particular, they provide indis
pensible diagnostic information, contribute significantly to adjacent
soft tissue conditioning, and ensure the patient's comfort during the
intermediate phase of treatment. The treatment outcome strongly depend
s on the treatment approach chosen. This article describes a treatment
rationale comprising the use of a diagnostic template. This type of w
ork strategy, documented with clinical cases, integrates diagnostic wa
xups and indirect provisional restorations using simplified and effici
ent fabrication techniques.
