Abstract
This paper presents the first full morphological description of Macron europteris macrophylla, the type species of its genus. The fronds are very similar in size to the more widely distributed Neuropteris, but a re significantly less divided; the M. macrophylla pinnules are homolog ous to segmented, tertiary pinnae in Neuropteris. M. macrophylla is kn own only from westernmost Europe and easternmost North America.
