Abstract
Various samples of different substituted La-ferrites (La(1-x1)A(x)1(Fe 1-x2Bx2)O-3) have been prepared by the usual ceramic and high temperat ure sintering technique. On these specimens several measurements were carried out, namely, Cu-K-alpha X-ray analysis, true density, bulk den sity, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorime try (DSC), IR absorption spectra, electronic absorption spectra and cr ushing strength before and after gamma-radiation dose (4.5x10(7) rad). Results reported were promising, interpreted and discussed in detail on the basis of the interaction of gamma-radiation and different dopan t cations with La-ferrite lattices. Finally, a suggested lattice struc ture symbol was put forward.
