Abstract
We present experimental results supported by modeling data for TPC sli ders that show the effect of temperature on the flying height is negli gible in an open environment as long as the slider crown does not chan ge with temperature. At 10K ft. altitude conditions we find that the m easured flying height of a TPC slider can drop as much as 15nm.
