Abstract
The finite gap width replay pulse was considered in this paper, when t he transition width is no longer a constant but a function of the dept h of the medium. In the numerical calculation this function is approxi mated in two terms, linear and second ol der, as a = a(y) = a(0) + k(1 ) . y + k(2) . y(2). It is found that both pulse amplitude and pulse w idth change with transition width variation, however, the second order effect is much smaller in comparison with the linear effect of such a variation.
