COMBINED VECTOR HYSTERESIS MODELS AND APPLICATIONS

The demands of high density magnetic recording have motivated the deve lopment of vector Preisach models to supplant the scalar Preisach mode l. We present the details of such models, including methods for identi fication. The models are validated by the prediction of a variety of r esponses, including hysteresis loops, delta M curves, and rotational b ehavior such as torque curves at intermediate field values. An applica tion of the model to adjacent track interference is discussed.
