Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) in a granular film of Au82Co18 was inves
tigated. Measurements of magnetization up to 5 Tesla and magnetoresist
ance up to 1.5 Tesla were carried out at room temperature and at lower
temperatures. The results obtained exhibit a quadratic dependence on
the magnetization at room temperature and much steeper behavior at low
temperatures. Using the model of electron spin scattering, of Zhang a
nd Levy, the measured results are quantitatively analyzed.
