Abstract
The paper presents a new electronic starter for single phase induction motors. It replaces the well known starting capacitor as a phase shif ting component in the auxiliary winding circuit. Moreover, The auxilia ry winding is disconnected automatically, without any additional switc h, when the motor gets close to its rated speed. The operation princip le of the starter is theoretically explained, and illustrated with exp erimental results.
