Abstract
The influence of the startup instant of the quench in a superconductin g current limiter is studied. The heat transfer equation is numericall y solved, using finite difference method, end taking the effects of cu rrent sharing into account. The results show the importance of this in stant on the dissipated power, the temperature-increase and on the eff iciency of the current limitation.
