Abstract
Forty healthy, adult, Warmblood horses, aged 4 to 16 years and nine fo als, aged 6 weeks to 5 months, were used in the studies to determine t he therapeutic indications of recombinant equine interferon-beta(1). I nterferon was administered IM. It was found that rEq IFN-beta(1) might be useful for prophylaxis against the spread of viruses sensitive to interferon in a population of horses.
