Raman scattering investigation of phase transition in the ferroelectri
c Ba0.95Ca0.05TiO3 is reported. The results suggest onset of significa
nt dynamic disorder at 105 degrees C. This corroborates findings of re
cent structural study regarding large positional disorder associated w
ith Ti and O1 atoms well below the tetragonal to cubic transition temp
erature (similar to 150 degrees C).
