Abstract
The polycarbosilanes (PCS) with meta-linkage bending unit (-Me(2)Si-m- C6H4-Me(2)Si-CH2CH2-) were successfully synthesized in mild conditions by hydrosilylation in the presence of [Pt{(CH2=CHSiMe(2))(2)O}(2)]. T he PCS obtained were soluble in various solvents owing to the lowering of the crystallinity. These properties are well compared with those o f the PCS [-Me(2)Si-p-C6H4-Me(2)Si-CH2CH2-](n).
