d the Office of the Chancellor in cooperation with industry partners d
esigned and implemented a broadband network prototype to explore lever
aging human and instructional resources among the 22 campuses of the C
alifornia State University. With its current OC-3 capacity, the protot
ype network is capable of supporting near-broadcast quality two-way in
teractive video with simultaneous access to multi- and hypermedia reso
urces across the network. Faculty and student collaborative work is fa
cilitated by desktop video teleconferencing from faculty offices and s
tudent computer labs.
