X. Oriols et al., IMPLICATIONS OF THE NONCROSSING PROPERTY OF BOHM TRAJECTORIES IN ONE-DIMENSIONAL TUNNELING CONFIGURATIONS, Physical review. A, 54(4), 1996, pp. 2594-2604
Several practical implications of the noncrossing property of one-dime
nsional Bohm trajectories are examined, It is shown that the position
of a Bohm particle, the average transmission, reflection and dwell tim
es, and thr probability distribution of these tunneling times, can all
be obtained without actually calculating trajectories. On the other h
and, the intuitive interpretation of the scattering of wave packers by
potential barriers is discussed within the framework of Bohm's interp
retation of quantum mechanics, In this regard, claims that Bohm`s appr
oach lends to counterintuitive results art shown to be subjective.
