The absolute differential cross sections and generalized oscillator st
rengths of resolved 3p(6 1)S(0)-->3p(5)(P-2(1/2))4s, 3p(5)(P-2(3/2))4s
' transitions in argon were determined by angle-resolved electron-ener
gy-loss spectrometer ar an incident electron energy of 1500 eV and sca
ttering angles from 2 degrees to 11.5 degrees. Corrections of the expe
rimental results for the angular factor and pressure effect have been
made. These results art compared with oilier experimental and theoreti
cal results, The absolute differential cross sections and generalized
oscillator strengths of unresolved nondipole excitations 3p(6)-3p(5)4p
+4p' are reported. The profile or the generalized oscillator strength
curve if similar ro that of neon atoms.
