Abstract
Reeves' muntjac is a sub-tropical deer which was introduced to Britain at the beginning of this century. Many more deliberate releases and a ccidental escapes from captive collections have occurred up to the pre sent time. Year-round breeding, with the potential for a female to pro duce a fawn at intervals of seven months, has contributed to their suc cess. For decades muntjac were considered to be a harmless introductio n. Nom that dense populations are established, especially in central s outhern England, their impact on native flora has been recognised. The re is a need for more management in many localities. Interest in troph y hunting has increased recently.
