Abstract
Photographic BV photometry has been performed for stars in the souther n globular cluster NGC 6139. We were the first to construct the color- magnitude diagram of this cluster which shows a well-developed horizon tal branch. Fitting theoretical isochrones to the giant branch suggest s a low metallicity of the cluster. Equatorial coordinates have been d etermined for the ten variable stars recognized in NGC 6139.
