Abstract
Complete sets of orthogonal operators are used to calculate eigenvalue s and eigenvector compositions in complex spectre. The latter are used to transform the LS-transition matrix into realistic intermediate cou pling transition probabilities. Calculated transition probabilities fo r some close lying levels in Ni V and Fe III illustrate the power of t he complete orthogonal operator approach.
