[eta(1)-(Me(3)Si)(3)C5H2]Te-2 (1), the first homoleptic cyclopentadien
yltellurium compound, is obtained by reacting lithium tris(trimethylsi
lyl)cyclopentadienide with bis(diethyldithiocarbamato)tellurium. 1 slo
wly decomposes at room temperature but can be stabilized as [eta(1)-(M
e(3)Si)(3)C5H2]2TeW(CO)(5) (2). 1 and 2 are structurally characterized
by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
